Season Changes, Time of Harvest & Celebrations - 2019

As the weather turns cooler, the leaves of the trees surrounding my house are turning brown and when I walk my cutie-pie dog, Swift, the ground is starting to be covered with leaves… This is my favourite time of year, when the air cools and becomes fresh while we all bundle up and start wearing our winter boots, scarves, sweaters and jackets. (I also love spring, for the new beginnings and promise as things start to open & bloom)

At each change of the season, I take time to reflect on the past chapter and set intentions for the new season. I shared with you already a bit about this in my previous email/post about setting intentions. A New Season – A New You! Setting Your Autumn Intentions - 2019

As we enter into the new fall season, what are you focusing on?

For years now, I have been setting goals and intentions seasonally.

I always split up my focus and effort by the seasons since each season has its own energy and focus.

The summer was full of fun, holidays, entertaining and just lounging in the sun or getting outside. While the fall is more focused on regular routines, more time inside and focusing on working now that everyone is "back to school/work."

My past summer 2019 was focused on getting healthy & strong so I could transition back to work after a year and a half on sick leave without pay at home. Fortunately, with all the time off to focus on my health & recovery for a "tune-up", I was finally able to return to work this Sep!

And with the improvement of my health this past summer, we finally got pregnant after trying for 2 years! So my summer was also focused on growing the baby and taking care of myself with this new "project" <3

Daily Systems for Success

So today I woke up to a cloudy and rainy day which isn't a big deal but was definitely different than the past few weeks of hot summer weather we've been having lately.

Plus, I was tired from minimal sleep last night and feeling groggy and a bit off my usual positive energy.

So this is where the power of daily routines & habits come in.

On autopilot, I got up at our regular 6am time, made the bed, got dressed & made a healthy breakfast. Sat down with my husband for some quality time over tea & coffee before he headed off to work for the day. Then I spent a bit of time cleaning up the kitchen, doing dishes and shining the sink. At that point there was a choice, to follow the rest of my morning routine or climb back into bed...
